My name is Betty Bootstrap, and I’m a Digital Solopreneur from the United States. I live in Mount Rainier, MD, and work in Washington, DC. For my day job, I’m the Director of IT Architecture at a federal agency, and I’ve been a civil servant in the federal government for more than 25 years.
As you can imagine, my day job is stressful but also rewarding. Over the course of my career, I have supported and helped lead the implementation of many transformation and modernization initiatives. I believe that IT can help improve the productivity of our business and the lives of our citizens.
But … this blog is not about my life as an IT Director. Now, I want to introduce you to…

Betty Bootstrap is my savvy marketer who comes out at night and on the weekends to chase the dream of a successful online business.
I’ve been working on this dream for over 10 years now, and it’s a work in progress. I’ve seen more failures than successes, and yes, I’ve spent thousands of dollars on training, tools, and products, but I’m learning from my mistakes and capitalizing on my successes along the way.
I started Betty Bootstrap to take my efforts to the next level and create a business brand. I am beginning to develop “systems” and learning how to automate manual tasks that have been overwhelming me.
I love learning about strategy and business models, but like you, I’m weary of spending money on new shiny objects all the time. It’s time to just focus on what makes sense for building our businesses and our brands.
As an entrepreneur, you don’t need half a million dollars to start a business.
I’m Betty Bootstrap, and I’m all about finding the fastest, cheapest, and most strategic way to build a successful online business.
Starting a new business on a limited budget is called “bootstrapping,” and it’s the only way to go if you don’t want to spend months pitching your ideas to investors, racking up your credit cards, or having others hang over your shoulder and second-guessing your every move.
I’m slowly building several business assets to grow into an agency, when I am ready to take it full-time.
Having been doing online marketing for more than ten years, I have learned from some of the world’s top Internet Marketers, such as Ben Adkins, Cindy Bidar, Steve Benn, Angela Wills, and many others, I have taken what I have learned and made it my goal to use it in the best way that I can to help others to achieve success online.
There is no better time to start an online business than now.
However, knowing whom to trust and where to go for reliable help can be difficult.
I aim to provide inspiration, motivation, and help for those who would like to make money online, always doing so with complete transparency and honesty. I hope you stick with me!
